Why I Founded Healthy Homes Healthy Kids

Theresa Davis-Bowling is the Executive Director and Founder of Healthy Homes Healthy Kids (HHHK). It was founded by her in October 2018 and received nonprofit 501c3 status in May 2019.

Theresa brings over 23 years of experience working for the health department, on environmental justice issues and in the medical field in Cleveland, Ohio. She has worked with local, state and federal agencies on issues that directly impact the health, medical, safety, housing, educational and environmental needs of our most valuable and vulnerable children.

Theresa has three children two are adults with both asthma and food allergies. One minor child that has special medical needs. He was born premature with many health issues such as sucking, swallowing, compromised immune system and aspiration. These health challenges made it personal and its the driving force behind her wanting to help children.

Letisa Berry - President

Letisa is a versatile accounting and finance professional with over fifteen years of experience in accounting sectors overseeing compliance, payroll, bookkeeping, forecasting, audits, and budgeting. A dynamic manager with broad knowledge of policy, research, and project management. She is a hands-on problem solver dedicated to solving any issue and getting things running smoothly. 

Prior to joining Healthy Homes Healthy Kids (HHHK), Letisa was a Finance Manager with the City of Cleveland. There she managed a $15.2M annual budget for various Federal, State and Local funding and grants. In addition to her responsibilities for finance, accounting, strategic planning and development, she brings a unique, dynamic and personal perspective to HHHK. Letisa youngest daughter was diagnosed with a rare chromosomal condition Tetrasomy 18p.  This condition usually causes feeding difficulties in infancy, delayed development, intellectual disability that is often mild to moderate but can be severe, changes in muscle tone, distinctive facial features, and other birth defects. Navigating thru this rare condition has made her a warrior and voice for her daughter to ensure she lives her best life possible. 

Letisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in Accounting. In her spare time, Letisa enjoys reading, shopping and traveling with her family. She can also be found during her down time Candy Crushing her heart out. 

Beth baron - Secretary

Beth Baron is a Licensed Independent Social Worker, who has worked on environmental and mental health issues impacting young children for the past 14 years. Beth worked seven years on the issues of childhood lead poisoning. The past five years she has worked as an Early Childhood Therapist and Mental Health Consultant in the medical setting. Beth is also a nationally rostered Child-parent Psychotherapy provider.
